GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Newly-appointed full-time Director of the Thiel Choir and Lecturer of Music, Brianne Samson, will lead Thiel College singers in their first performance of the 2023-24 academic year on Oct. 26.
The groups will be performing works by Johannes Brahms, Gabriel Fauré, The King Singers, and more.
Special guests, The Greenville High School Chamber Singers, will also perform, singing selections by Alan Menken, Stephen Sondheim, John Williams, and Ryan Main.
The performance is free and open to the public.
Samson has been assisting with the Thiel Choir since 2020, and became the director for the 2022-2023 academic year in a part-time role, moving to full time this year.
Samson earned both her Bachelor of Music (music education) and Master of Music (music performance) degrees from Youngstown State University. She studied voice with Dr. Misook Yun and conducting with Dr. Hae Jong Lee at YSU’s Dana School of Music. She has been an active freelance musician, performing throughout the United States, sharing stages with performers such as the Boston Pops Orchestra.
Samson has extensive experience teaching private voice, flute, oboe, and piano lessons to students ranging in age from three through adulthood.
